Day 19

Mileage: 49
From: Grangeville, ID
To: Jerry Johnson USFS Park

Today was just wilderness; no stores, no nothing. We tried to find hotsprings, but failed. We figured out where they were, but it was too close to dark to bother hiking in, so we’re going in the morning. We’re staying in the Jerry Johnson USFS Park, and it sucks. There’s no camp host, nowhere good for a tent because everything’s grown up with tall weeds, and no showers.

Today was a long subtle climb up Lolo. It wasn’t too challenging—sort of rolling hills, but uphill on average. Lauren’s legs were killing her, so we called it a day sort of early. We had delicious Kraft grown-up macaroni and cheese with Portobello mushrooms, and we added peas. It was great, and required nothing but boiling water.
